Since its launch, the Google pixel 2XL has become the most desirable device in the smartphone market. At the same time, it has been showing up many software issues which are not expected from one of the tech giants. Though Google was responding and resolving the bug issues very quickly, the new issue rolls out every day.
Now the issue is with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update that is ought to slower the fingerprint scanner functionality. In the first half of December, we have seen Android 8.1 Oreo update rolling out to the pixel devices. It seems that the update is not going well especially with the XL model. Many users took the Google Product Forum to report the issue.
Reporting the issue one of the Google Pixel 2XL user writes "Its not that the fingerprint scanner works slower because I feel the vibration very fast after I put my finger on the scanner but then it takes really long before the screen actually turns on,"
From the comments specified on the product forum, we can understand that the fingerprint scanner takes a longer time to respond. At the same time, it even takes a longer time to turn on the display screen.
They further added that the fingerprint scanner is responding quickly if ‘Always On’ display feature is enabled. If you don’t wish to enable that feature then you need to wait for an official fix.
Google is quick at responding the issue and is already working to fix it at the earliest. They are reaching the Google Pixel 2 XL users to get the bug report and other information.
Keeping all these issues aside, one of the big plus for Android 8.1 Oreo update is Pixel Visual Core. According to Google, this feature delivers more efficient HDR+ processing. This custom designed co-processor is made available to all pixel smartphones in UAE with the Android 8.1 Oreo update.
