Apple To CEASE iPhone X After Disappointing Sales

Disappointing sales and lesser demand could force to cease the production of Apple’s popular flagship iPhone X. It has been only six months since the tech giant Apple introduced iPhone X into the market. Now, as per the credible Source Apple Insider, the Cupertino company will cancel the iPhone X production probably in this summer due to huge reduction in sales. This is the first iPhone to be continued after iPhone 5C back in 2014.

The Apple Insider report states that “In a research note seen by AppleInsider, KGI securities believes that Apple will ship around 18 million of the iPhone X in the first calendar quarter of 2018. Contrary to other predictions based on the supply chain, KGI says that the iPhone X has not been as impactful in China as predicted because of the notch holding the sensors for the device, giving consumers the impression that there is less usable space than on the iPhone 8 Plus”

Rosenblatt Securities analyst Jun Zhang also reports the Apple discontinuing the iPhone X production.

Zhang said to its clients that "Based on our most current research, we believe that Apple may be planning to cut iPhone X production for the June quarter by as much as 10 million units, reducing output to 15 million."

It is expected that the smartphone sales would shrink by 5 percent in the near future. However, the reduce in iPhone X sales will not boost up the other smartphone sales. This is due to the reason that people are deciding to stick on to the older models. The iPhone X was not as exciting as the customers expected it to be. So, the customers with older iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 are not finding it beneficial to upgrade to iPhone X. Moreover, the anniversary flagship holds higher price tag which is making people to think twice.

According to KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is further planning to replace iPhone X with three new smartphones which are lined up for release in this year. They include 6.0-inches iPhone SE (2018), 6.5-inches iPhone X Plus and 5.8-inch iPhone X. Apple is further reportedly working on to enhance the body to screen ratio.

The Cupertino company is expecting that the new flagships will definitely have add-in features that attract more customers. However, it is quite embarrassing to hear that the so-called Apple anniversary Addition is ending up soon. Moreover, the Apple iPhone X was considered as the best iPhone ever.
