Have you ever thought why your iPhone is getting slow? Did you find the delay in processing speeds of old iPhone? Then there is the reason that slows down your iPhone.
After so many years of rumours rolling around about the slowing down of iPhones, Apple now finally confirms it to be true. Apple has decided to clarify the issue and explain in detail of the iOS mechanisms that are meant to avoid battery problems.
As per the Apple Spokesperson “Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices.”
The Apple iPhones use Li-ion battery that degrades with time. And as per Apple note, if it doesn't affect the performance of the device, there is every chance of internal components getting damaged.
The tech giant explains that with the old batteries, the device may not be able to support phone processor at the maximum speed. In that case, there is a chance of unexpected shut down of iPhone in order to protect the internal components.
There are even some iPhone 6s who found their device to shut down abruptly, with 30-40 % charge remaining.
Reddit Post Lets the Whole story Begin…
The so-called feature is been identified by one of the Reddit users. It is found the processor running slowly in the iPhones holding older batteries. However, the issue resolved when the battery is replaced.
Apple Spokesperson further added that “Last year we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6S and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions,”
“We’ve now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future.”
Apple reporting the issue claims that this is not a bug. Instead, it is a feature designed to protect iPhone from battery problems and enhance the iPhone life.
