Asus is in the news since its announcement of the ZenFone 5 series. Asus has launched two of its smartphones ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5 lite. Both of the smartphones have shown amazing features like 90% of the screen to body ratio, larger display and dual camera set up as well. After these two smartphones, the Asus ZenFone 5 series has another smartphone lined up ZenFone 5Z. With the last two releases, there are higher expectations for this upcoming smartphone. The Asus ZenFone 5Z was officially disclosed in February this year during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) is now finally coming to the market.
The smartphone has a sleek and shiny look. the shiny metal back makes it premium. The ZenFone 5Z weighs 155 grams and has 7.9mm thickness. The back has the dual camera set up and rear fingerprint sensor. The back has also geometrical parallel line design. On the front, the smartphone has 6.2-inch full-HD screen (1080x2246 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio which makes it even taller than the 18.5:9 ratio seen of the Galaxy S-Series. It has a screen to body ratio of 90 percent.
The Asus ZenFone 5Z features dual-SIM (Nano) and runs on Android 8.0. The display also supports the DCI-P3 color gamut and comes with Asus' Blue-light eye care filter, seen on previous handsets. The Asus ZenFone 5Z is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with the AIE (Artificial Intelligence Engine) and Adreno 630 GPU. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in the base model, a middle of the line model with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and then the higher model has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, the internal storage is expandable by microSD card (up to 2TB), which has its own dedicated card slot. The Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. . The smartphone has a Fast battery charging 9V/2A 18W of 3300mAh battery that supports AI Charging tech. It also has new ZeniMoji which is in the competition of the Apple's Animoji.
The trend in the market is now to bring fingerprint sensor not on the base of the smartphone in the home button but as a separate sensor, this design is also kind of copied by Samsung as it is used to feature a sensor on the back of the smartphone. Now, most of the smartphones deliver rear-mounted fingerprint sensor so as Asus ZenFone 5Z. The amazing thing with its sensor is that it can also detect the fingerprint even the finger is damp. This is quite as great as most of the smartphone fingerprint sensors are not capable of water resistance. It also unlocks the smartphone very quick in just only 0.3 seconds.
The Asus ZenFone 5Z has a dual rear camera setup, with the primary camera of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor coupled with a f/1.8 aperture, 83-degree field of view, 24mm equivalent focal length in 35mm film camera, and a Softlight LED flash. The secondary camera on the rear is coupled with the 8-megapixel sensor, a 120-degree wide-angle lens, a f/2.2 aperture, and a 12mm equivalent focal length in a 35mm film camera. The selfie camera offers an 8-megapixel resolution, with a f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree field of view, and a 24mm equivalent focal length in a 35mm film camera. There is 3-axis EIS available for both the front and rear cameras. There is also Face Unlock feature and real-time beautification features.
Asus is also offering great audio elements on the smartphone as it includes dual 5-magnet speakers with dual NXP smart amplifiers, a PMIC internal dual amplifier, triple internal microphones with noise reduction, Hi-Res Audio (192KHz/ 24-bit standard audio output on HRA certified earbuds) support, as well as DTS Headphone X support.
