Facebook Unveils ‘Watch’ , YouTube’s Competitor

The giant social site Facebook will now give a tough fight to YouTube as they are going to introduce a brand new social network named ‘Watch’. ‘Watch’ will be initially rolled out to a limited number of content creators and users in the U.S.


Recently, YouTube has started its full-fledged messaging and video sharing feature in its mobile app. Some sources say that Facebook may venture into TV like shows but later was revealed that it will be a YouTube like website.


However, no info has been out as when the website will be released, but some reports say that the YouTube like Watch will be available only for some users in the US from today.

'Watch' will be easy to use and allow you to explore and watch videos from your own feed, create show lists and subscribe to your favorite shows.
The content creators who will produce videos for Watch exclusively will get a 55% share of ad break revenue while the rest will go to Facebook, as per some sources.

After the last posting last quarterly profits, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg stated to the media, “We are making some early investments to create episodic content.”
