Google Pixel 3: Here’s What We Expect From Google’s 2018 Flagship

After the success of 2017’s flagships Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, now the search engine giant is working on the Pixel 3 and 3XL which are ought to be impressive phones for 2018. Despite having a regular design and display issues, the innovative camera features included make it to the list of smartphones with the best camera. This further justifies the Google Pixel 2XL price tag. Now that Google started to work on the next-gen flagship, let us look at the wish list from the 2018 Google’s pixel flagship smartphones.

Bezel-less screen

With the bezel-less trend going, we expect at least the upcoming flagship to follow the trend and minimize the bezels surrounding display. The Google Pixel 2 had large bezels around the screen and need to be trimmed down for the Google Pixel 3. The bezels normally house the front speakers. So, we hope that the search engine giant will find a way to minimize bezels without compromising the speakers.

Improvised OLED display

The previous flagship Google Pixel and Pixel 2 XL faced a lot of display-related issues including burn-in issue and a bluish tint. This made the search engine giant lag behind the competition. In order to stay ahead in the smartphone market, Google needs to step forward in improvising the products, especially with the display. Apart from this enhancement, we even expect the Google flagship to feature a Quad HD resolution instead of full HD 1080p. This is a minimum requirement for the so-called premium smartphones.

Active Edge

The Google pixel device has this excellent addition of Active Edge feature. This lets to squeeze the device in order to launch Google Assistant. However, there is no option to customize this feature. We expect it to be customizable as well as context-sensitive. Users need to have an option to launch apps directly from Active Edge instead of Google Assistant.

Secure Unlock Feature

This is what we expect from almost all Android smartphones. Though there is a secure fingerprint sensor, there is a need for an option which would a trending face unlock. This doesn't mean to ditch fingerprint sensor and replace it with face unlock. We expect the phone that includes both these features thus giving the users an option to choose from. Android was always unsuccessful in offering a secure unlock feature. But we expect at least the search engine giant to come up with a native solution to make it more secure.

3.5mm Headphone Jack

Following the path of Apple, the search engine giant Google preferred to ditch headphone jack in Google Pixel 2. Android is always known for its ease of convenience. So, we expect that the Google reverses its decision of removing 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, the sound quality of the wired headsets is much better than the wireless jacks.

Wireless Charging

The wireless charging has become popular these days. Almost all the latest iPhones have the wireless charging standard. However, this will force the Google to shift from metal rear to glass back in the upcoming pixel smartphones. This technology may become a regular standard in the future, so we expect Google not to miss out the immersion of technology.

IP68 certification

The present pixel smartphones are IP67 rated that make the phones water resistant. This rating allows the phones to resist water up to three feet deep for 30 minutes. As the Samsung flagship, we even expect the Google Pixel 3 in Dubai to have an IP68 certification. These devices can survive water up to 5 feet deep for 30 minutes. Though it is a small change, it gives the users more value for the money spent.
