His Highness Sheikh Mohammed flags off ‘Dubai Cyber Security Strategy’

In a bid to strengthen Dubai's position as a world leader in innovation, safety and security, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum along with Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, flagged off the “Dubai Cyber Security Strategy” to ensure safety of the denizens in the digital world.

The initiative was launched in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, and Major General Talal Humaid Belhoul.

Inaugurating the Strategy, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted about UAE's achievements in securing the top position in the regional and international platforms in providing security to individuals and organizations in a country. Both federal and local governments in the UAE have always worked towards constructing an environment where people are safe and secure.


Talking about the importance of cyber security in the technologically driven society, Sheikh Mohammed said in the digital era people depend on the technology to stay connected with people worldwide. So it very important to develop smart strategies that will enable the UAE to maximize the benefits of technology and ensure the nation’s readiness to face any challenges it may bring.

“We have set ourselves firmly on a path of excellence and creativity in the UAE, and today with the launch of the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy, we are adding a new achievement to the list of the government’s many accomplishments. This proves to the world that the more challenges we face, the more determined we are to achieve the highest excellence,” he added.

Sheikh Mohammed directed both government and private sectors to join hands in ensuring a secure cyberspace that will make Dubai the safest city in the world. “We want to harness technology to create a new reality in Dubai and a different life, a new model of development,” he said.

The Dubai Cyber Security Strategy targets towards rendering integrated protection against the cyberspace threat, support for innovation in the digital world and prosperity of Emirate in terms of technology and economy.
