Honor View 10 Review

Finally, here is the best competitor to the OnePlus 5T. Since its launch in November, it has been ruling over the mid-range smartphone industry. Honor View 10 beats the OnePlus 5T not only in its price but also the specific features that even the OnePlus flagship does not offer.

Honor is known for delivering high quality handsets at an attractive price. The new Honor View 10 is one such flagship from Honor that offers impressive specification and also features mobile artificial intelligence. Honor View 10 is the best alternative for those looking out for high-end Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

Display and Design

Honor follows the present trend of narrow borders, taller screens and 18:9 aspect ratio. The device sports a metal uni body with a matte finish and a flat back that holds antenna bands. The dual camera along with the LED flash cover the rear end. The camera lens protrude outwards thus protecting the lens while placed on a flat surface.

Honor View 10 has a 5.99-inches big IPS LCD screen with a selfie camera, fingerprint sensor and an earpiece taking place on the front end. It features a full HD resolution at 1080 X2160 pixels. With just 7mm thick, the Honor View 10 is slimmer than the high-end smartphones like iPhone X. Unlike other flagships, this device is given a headphone jack.

OS and Processor

This is the second flagship of Honor that is holding Huawei Kirin 970 processor with an NPU. The in-built NPU is capable of delivering AI processing and is good at performance, privacy and speed. The processor is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Honor View 10 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with an Honor’s EMUI 8.0 interface. The Kirin 970 processor better uses the Android Oreo gaming platform to deliver smooth performance.

The most noticeable feature in the Honor View 10 is multilingual translation through the Microsoft translator app. The app works with the NPU and boasts impressive capabilities. Just point the required foreign language content to the camera app and the translator app automatically recognizes and translates it. Thanks to the Honor View 10 NPU AI capabilities that is making it possible.

So, while talking about the camera feature, the in-built NPU AI is the main core of the dual rear camera setup. The setup includes a 16MP colour sensor and 20MP monochrome sensor. The front camera sports 13MP sensor. The rear camera features bokeh mode and has the ability to learn. It is quite surprising that the Honor did not include any facial unlocking mechanism despite the advanced processor and good camera setup.

The display screen is fueled by a 3750 mAh battery which is definitely a step up to the OnePlus 5T 3300 mAh battery. The battery is capable enough to push itself for an entire day with a moderate usage. It supports fast charging support through the USB-C port.

Honor says that battery is good for a total 19 hours of video, 21 hours of 4G browsing and 5.5 hours of gaming. The fast charge support can charge the device from 0 to 50 percent within half hour.

Honor View 10 is definitely a worthful device to purchase as it packs in all the significant features from the high-end smartphones in less price tag. Though it sports a slightly lesser battery capacity than Huawei Mate 10 Pro, you may not find any compromise in the performance level.

Furthermore, the Honor View 10 has a better camera along with the expandable storage which makes it as a wise choice, especially for the photographers.
