We expected the launch of HTC mid-range smartphone HTC Desire 12 at MWC 2018. But the Taiwanese company stretched its launch and may bring it a bit later this year. Alongside the HTC Desire 12, it is planning to launch its powerful sibling HTC Desire 12 Plus. According to few sources, the specifications of the handset with a code name Breeze Plus was revealed online.
Both the flagship models are likely to get 18:9 display with premium design as in HTC U11 Plus. The higher variant HTC Desire 12 Plus may feature a 5.99-inches LCD display with a screen resolution of 1440 X 720 pixels. This forces the dimensions to be 158.2 x 76.5 x 8.4mm and weighs at 155g. Unlike the standard variant, the HTC Desire 12 plus packs in Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 CPU.
The regular model may have a quad-core MediaTek processor with 3GB of RAM and onboard storage of 32GB. As for the camera, the new model may have a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front shooter with Electronic Image Stabilization(EIS). It may pack 2965mAh battery with Quick charge 3.0 support. The upcoming handset may be bundled with 5V charger with 7.5W power output. So, users need to buy a separate charger to get the quick charge feature enabled.
Moreover, rumors render that HTC is also working on another flagship device- HTC U12. This is ought to be a first 5G smartphone with high-end specifications including Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It can feature a dual rear camera and may ditch headphone jack. Both the standard variant HTC Desire 12 and the plus variant HTC Desire 12 Plus may launch in the second quarter of 2018. As for now, there is no information on pricing. But it is likely to carry an affordable price that can make it compete with other smartphones.
