HTC U12 Plus Review

The much awaited HTC U12 Plus has been revealed by the HTC. The company has been very keen towards its customers by providing some quality smartphones as like last year HTC U11 and HTC U11 Plus has already created the hype with 12 MP rear camera and 16:9 aspect screen ratio but unfortunately, the main lack was the color accuracy as the reds, greens, and yellows used to look oversaturated.

This year the Taiwanese brand HTC flagship smartphones HTC U12 and HTC U12 Plus were much anticipated but the company decided to release only a single smartphone this year to stop waiting or hanging its customers for the bigger or better version of the flagship smartphones, the company has released its HTC U12 Plus and there will be no more variants of it. The new HTC U12 Plus is more improved and advanced with its significant features and appealing looks.

This year HTC seems well prepared for the rivalry and bought all the trendy features to its flagship, last year the U11 screen ration and the color issue made the smartphone to fade away but this time HTC has worked really well.  HTC U12 Plus has a tall-narrow 6in, 18:9 quad-HD (1,440 x 2,880) screen that fills most of the body of the phone and gives the phone a bezel-less look.  The back of the smartphone is made up of the glass which is trending and there is also a flashlight and fingerprint sensor embedded at the back. There's also IP68 dust and water resistance and improved HTC’s famous “BoomSound” speakers although the 3.5mm headphones jack is absent. HTC has also introduced pressure sensitive volume and power buttons which provides durability but it is also considered as a controversial element as it would be decided by the customers whether it will be liked by them or not.

Most of the companies are fighting over the advanced and better camera, the industry is busy in this competition as for now HTC has been very smart by fitting the two selfie cameras in front and also it has two rear cameras. The main camera with 12MP and 16 MP have the capabilities that both can be used to insert a blurred “bokeh” background with the second camera adding depth data which eventually gives a 2x optical zoom. The video quality is also impressive with the dual rear camera support. Whereas, the 2 front cameras of 8MP gives great selfie results.

Edge Sense 2

The Edge Sense 2 has now improved features which allow a user to set customized commands or gestures for app depending on his/her use and won’t be required the support of the developer to set.

HTC is no longer behind its competitors and has brought HTC U12 Plus with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845. This is an octa-core chip that runs at a clock speed of 2.6GHz and the backup of HTC U12 Plus is by 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.  HTC U12 plus also supports microSD card and the phone also has the dual-SIM capability. Further, the battery support is higher than the recently released of Sony Xperia XZ2 and OnePlus 6 as the HTC U12 Plus provides 3,500mAh battery.

Appealing Colors

HTC U12 Plus also comes with unusual and appealing colors like “Ceramic Black" color with a layered, silvery sheen, “Flame Red” which skews attractively between purple and pink that adds on the value for phone and gives it a classic look. With these color variations, there is also a translucent HTC U12 Plus with blue color and it reveals the circuit boards, ribbon cables and surface-mount components usually invisible under the surface.
