HTC unveils the name of their upcoming U series flagship

The 'guessing game' for the name of the next flagship phone of HTC has finally ended as the company seems to have settled for one. Though we were already aware of the phone being codenamed as ‘Ocean’, a lot of speculations mounted on what the upcoming phone of HTC will be named as. However, brushing aside all the rumors, the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer has at last decided to go official with the name of their premium HTC model. And they have chosen to call it HTC U 11. Yes, you heard it right. That’s exactly what the upcoming flagship phone will be called as. Earlier this month, HTC had teased us by releasing a promotional video, where they referred their latest handset as ‘U’. This indicated that the phone is likely to be called as HTC U. The video also showed the handset equipped with touch-sensitive edges. Though people wait for this interesting device, HTC U 11 release date in Dubai has not been confirmed yet.

At the same time, people also apprehended that the phone might also be called as HTC 11, following its predecessor HTC 10. But finally, the company revealed the name to be HTC U 11, unlike everyone has expected. The name has drawn some negative criticism but that certainly won’t hamper the sales figure considering the brand's popularity.

Prior to this, the giant conglomerate had officially launched HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play in January under its flagship U series.

Sources revealed, the upcoming flagship phone HTC U 11, will be officially launched on May 16.

From the leaked video, it was found that the handset will have touch-sensitive edges and designed to operate with the gestures of the users.

It is tipped to come with a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) display and have a new interface of HTC, Sense 9. Its other speculated features include 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage option. It is likely to be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor and run Android 7.1 Nougat.

For the camera, HTC U 11 is likely to have a 12MP rear and 16MP front camera. So 'Selfie' lovers here is your device!

We were also tipped that it will come with an Artificial Intelligence feature, HTC Sense Companion besides a powerful 3000mAh battery capacity with Quick Charge 3.0 option.
