HTC is up on heels to make a powerful comeback to the smartphone industry this year. The popularity of the top Taiwanese brand was overshadowed in the past few years with the advent of beautifully designed high-end feature phones by its competitors such as Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi and others. So the giant tech company is gearing up to bring out their best from the basket to reclaim their position in the market.
Earlier this year, HTC unveiled their two handsets, HTC U Ultra and HTC Ultra Play, which were initially rumored to be the flagship phones of the brand. But, denying to the gossips, HTC clarified that they are yet to reveal their next flagship phone. A lot of speculations poured in after HTC hinted towards their highly-anticipated upcoming flagship phone.
The smartphone, which is dubbed as HTC U or HTC Ocean, is pitched to be one of the most powerful phones ever made by HTC.
HTC, which had taken a backseat in terms of sales figure due to its simple design handsets, is working hard to mend things. The rumored HTC U was recently found on the benchmarking site, where it scored a striking 1912 and 6137 points on single-core and multicore tests respectively. If compared to the Samsung Galaxy S8 scorecard, where it received 1916 in single core and 6011 in multi-core, HTC U has already surpassed the score in the multi-core section.
HTC U will be stock with some of the 'never-seen-before' specifications including the touch-sensitive edges and will operate with only gestures, touch, and voice of the users. Moreover, the company finally seems to have moved on from their simple design handset concept, which was one of the reasons behind their losing popularity. The promotional video of the upcoming handset shows that it will be crafted with ceramic curved-edge finish with no physical buttons on the front.
Talking about the rumored specifications, it is tipped to come with a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) display and have a new interface of HTC, Sense 9. Its other speculated features include 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage option. It is likely to be chipped with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor and run Android 7.1 Nougat.
For the camera, HTC U 11 is likely to have a 12MP rear and 16MP front camera. So 'Selfie' lovers here is your device!
We were also briefed that it will come with an Artificial Intelligence feature, HTC Sense Companion besides a powerful 3000mAh battery capacity with Quick Charge 3.0 option.
Official sources inform that HTC will launch its flagship HTC U on May 16. So, it won't be long till we lay our hands on this superphone!
