Huawei Honor 9 Lite Review

Recently, Huawei has come up with another new mid-range smartphone, Huawei Honor 9 Lite. This was actually announced in October 2017 and was called as a stripped down version of Huawei Honor 9i. The Huawei Honor 9 Lite carries dual rear camera setup along with the full view HD display at an affordable price. Furthermore, it ships in with latest EMUI 8.0 interface. Let us have a look at the detailed review of the new Huawei Honor 9 Lite.


Design & Display

The design of Honor’s product will remind you of the iPhone 8 Plus. It holds the same mirror-like glass finish at the rear end. The stunning double-sided glass design along with the bezel-less screen makes it more impressive. It is surprisingly of a lightweight at 149 gms and features a 5.65-inches full HD plus resolution display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen resolution is at 2160 X 1080 pixels and holds a pixel density of 428 PPI. On the rear end, there is Honor Logo at the bottom and on the top, there is earpiece and dual camera setup.


OS & Processor

The Honor 9 Lite holds the same chipset as Honor 9i-the HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, layered by an EMUI 8.0 interface. This interface is an upgraded version of EMUI 5.1. The processor is capable of offering nifty performance, especially while doing daily tasks. It is available in two variants- 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage.



The Huawei Honor 9 Lite packs in a pair of 13MP and 2MP on either side of the phone. The only difference is the rear sensor supports PDAF. The key role of both the sensors is to capture the portrait shots. The main sensor captures the image data while the secondary sensor captures the in-depth details. Photos taken in daylight are good, and autofocus is fast enough. The sensors are capable to read the scene and adjust the lighting accordingly.



With the non-removable 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery, the Honor 9 lite gives an impressive battery life. It further supports super charge technology. With the basic usage, the device lasts for an entire day. With the Huawei’s fast charging tech, the Honor 9 Lite charges from 0 to 100 percent in just two hours.



Despite the poor camera performance, the Huawei Honor 9 lite is definitely a good handset. It overcomes the flaws with its Android Oreo platform and good looking design featuring 18:9 aspect ratio. The Huawei Honor 9 Lite price in Dubai, UAE varies according to the storage variant. The basic price of this budget smartphone is around AED 699.
