Huawei Mate SE Vs Honor 7X

Two best value smartphones currently available in the market with great specs are Huawei Mate SE and Huawei Honor 7X. Huawei Mate SE is the third new smartphone after the release of Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Huawei Mate 10 Porsche design. Interestingly, this new handset is more budget-friendly than other two smartphones. With the aluminium chassis, dual rear camera and 18:9 display, the handset almost resembles the Huawei Honor 7X in Dubai. Here let us compare these two similarly designed smartphones and figure out where they exactly differ. Which is one worthy enough to pay for? Let's explore...

Design & Display

As for the design, the Huawei Mate SE is nothing but a rebranded Honor 7X. Both handsets have a Huawei logo on the front and rear end with the aluminium chassis, dual camera and a fingerprint sensor. They share nearly the same 18:9 display with 5.93-inches screen offering 2160 X 1080 full HD resolution. There is no much difference in terms of design and display in either of the handsets.

Processor & Performance

Inside the handsets, there is a Kirin 659 chipset that is fast enough to handle multiple tasks. The Huawei Mate SE in Dubai features 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage while the Honor 7X boats only 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. There is even a microSD slot to expand the internal storage. If you are a multi-tasker then this extra 1GB RAM would definitely help you in handling the tasks efficiently.

Though it shipped with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box, the Honor 7X recently received Android 8.0 Oreo update with the latest EMUI 8.0 on the top. Unfortunately, the Huawei Mate SE still runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 skin. Apart from the RAM and storage, rest of the specs are almost similar.

Camera and Battery

The Huawei Mate SE and Honor 7X ships in with the dual rear camera of 16MP and 2MP sensors. There is the similar 8MP front snapper for video calling and selfies. While the Huawei Mate SE has a single LED flash, the Honor 7X in Dubai is equipped with the dual LED flash. It can record 1080p videos at 30fps. Both the handsets have the same 3340mAh non-removable Li-ion battery to keep the display on.
