LG G7 Review: Everything We Know So Far About LG G7

Samsung with its Galaxy S8 outperformed LG G6 in every aspect. This forced LG to wait for few more months to launch a new flagship with upgraded features and processor.

Now, LG is in rush to launch its new flagship and probably can unveil the new LG G7 in January 2018. It is even speculated that LG is planning to ditch its G-series and branding something new in this year.

So the phone which was ought to be the successor of LG G6 may have a different name. As of now, we will settle to LG G7 and see the rumoured specs and details of the upcoming LG’s flagship.

LG was the first Smartphone to feature a bezel-less design with 18:9 display screen. The LG G6 and LG V30 were built upon the same spectacular design. So it is sure that LG continues to follow the same trend.

With the glass and metal finishing, the device may hold a premium look. What’s more interesting is the glass making that can come to the rear end as well.  This is to support wireless charging. However, a glass making with a metal frame will look good together.

Apart from the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, we can also expect Iris scanner to unlock the phone.

LG may be sporting the same display as in LG G6. While LG G7 display size is still unknown, however, we can expect it to sport a larger display than LG G6. There is no doubt for the 18:9 aspect ratio and Quad HD+ resolution display. It is likely to sport OLED or AMOLED display with curved screens.

Processor and Storage

One of the reasons for preferring Galaxy S8 over LG G6 is its processor. The LG G6 was with Snapdragon 821 which a perfectly fast CPU. But, within no time Samsung unveiled Galaxy S8 with Snapdragon 835 processor.

So, we may not expect the same to continue in 2018. Reports suggest that LG is coupling with Qualcomm and is working on to release LG G7 Dubai with Snapdragon 845 processor. If this is to be true, then it would be a great improvement for LG over its predecessors.

While talking about the storage capability, the LG G6 was holding 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. So we can expect LG G7 to prefer 6GB or 8GB in order to compete with other high-end smartphones.

Nothing new can be expected. As in G6 and G5, LG G7 may also inherit dual rear camera setup coupled with the wide-angle lens. We are not sure whether LG will stick on to the same resolution.

However, it is sure to feature optical image stabilization with ISO, manual mode, and phase detection autofocus. We can even see facial recognition technology integrated to the front camera sensor as in LG V30.

In terms of battery, the LG G7 may offer the same 3300 mAh battery. Along with this, it may feature Quick charge support with USB Type-C cable.

Price and Release date

LG was known to announce their flagship models in MWC trade show. So, we can expect the same trend to continue and LG G7 may become official at this event. As for the pricing, the LG G7 price in Dubai, UAE is AED 2299.

LG will definitely keep its price tag higher because of the hardware it is offering in the upcoming flagship. Finally, the LG G7 will make its debut somewhere in March or April.
