Nokia, who once ruled the telecommunication market, was out for quite some time. However, with its first ever Android-based smartphone called the Nokia 6, it made a great comeback in the Chinese market a short while ago. The phone was initially released in China, with a customized Chinese version of the Android 7.0. Recently Nokia also released the standard version globally. The phone has been one of the most awaited phones of the year 2017. Let’s find out if it lives up to our expectations!
Nokia 6 is a uni-body phone, carved out of the 6000 series aluminum, which can also be found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone6 Plus. It has a slate design with round edges, and a very sleek appearance. Interestingly, the phone offers security through its biometric Fingerprint Scanner which lies beneath the screen. While the screen size offers a decent display with its 5.5 inches full IPS display, it is also protected by the sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass. These features make the overall design of the phone seem smart and sleek, however it still lacks a unique physical, appearance.
16 Mega-Pixel Primary Camera
Nokia 6 packs in a 16-megapixel primary camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. However, unlike conventional Nokia phones, there is no Carl Zeiss lens installed in this model. The camera result is as good as a 16 megapixel should be but not extraordinary. It is still a good camera for day to day use, though Nokia was expected to deliver something exceptional with the Nokia 6.
The Nokia 6 runs the latest Android Nougat (Android 7.0) which is something one can boast about with a phone in that budget. And to enhance the user experience, it further claims to provide quick software updates for the phone, which is not a bad deal at all.
64GB Internal Storage
Nokia 6 comes with 64GB of internal storage with a micro SD slot, making it expandable to up to 256 GB. The processing engine runs the Snapdragon 430 CPU, and to power up the whole circuitry, a 3000 mAH non-removable battery is installed that lasts for more than a day. Moreover, Dolby Atmos technology is used to power up the speakers, which results in an enhanced audio quality.
Nokia 6 Price in Dubai, UAE
Released in January 2017, the Nokia 6 costs around 1388AED in Dubai.
Best Features of Nokia 6
- The aluminum case gives it a great feel
- The phone is lightweight and very handy
- Speakers are powerful, and screen resolution is marvelous
Most Criticized Features of Nokia 6
- The processor of the phone. Although, it would’ve been way better if it had a Snapdragon 625 or 650 CPU onboard
- The camera on this phone is unable to shoot 4K videos. But users can record on HD 1080p resolution
- Built quality is not that robust
It’s a great Android phone to have in this budget. Nokia 6 is definitely a much better option to choose over the current Chinese smartphones like Xiaomi and OnePlus.
