Older Android Tablets & Phones Gets Access to Google Assistant

The search giant, Google Assistant is known for its AI technology-based skills and features. It is already available to users in different devices and languages. Now, Google latest announcement reveals that Google Assistant will be rolling out even for older Android tablets and phones.

The Google Assistant which was once exclusive only for Google's pixel is now available for other Android devices. It is really good news for all users who were restricted and are unable to enjoy the famous feature. The smartphones running on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and the tablets with Android 7.0 Nougat and 6.0 Marshmallow can have an access.


As per the company's blog post, the assistant features include smart home control, setting reminders, and adding things to the shopping list.  A simple voice command is enough to accomplish the task.  It can assist you the time, check traffic status, listen to jokes, get the directions, weather report, and recipes of your choice.


As of now, the assistant is available for US users who have the smartphones with English as a default language. Within no time, it will roll out to other countries including Android smartphones in UAE. Probably, it even supports different languages in the coming year.

This expansion of personal voice assistant to tablets and other Android phones is beneficial for many Android users. With this move, almost 50 percent of Android users gain access to Google Assistant.
