OnePlus 3T VS Google Pixel

When it comes to second best manufacturers of smartphones, many companies fall under this category. Google launched its smartphone series with an aim to excel in smartphones and the Google Pixel is the latest addition to it. On the other hand, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, jumped into the smartphone market with its flagship model, OnePlus smartphones. Recently it launched the 3rd in its series, called the OnePlus 3T. Both of these phones enjoyed a great reception in the market, and are technically quite similar. The only big difference so far between the two phones is the price. Let’s have a look at the specifications of the two hit smartphones and decide which one is worth buying!

PROCESSING & SPEED:

Both of the phones are quite similar in specs and house the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.6 GHz Quad-core chipset. The OnePlus 3T takes the lead in internal storage with a minimum of 64 GB, which is twice of that in the Google Pixel. The OnePlus 3T also has 6 GB of RAM whereas the Google Pixel has 4 GB. In the processing chamber, OnePlus 3T, on the whole, is bigger and better.

DISPLAY & CAMERA:

Both the phones share a similar screen size with the OnePlus 3T sporting a 5.5 inch display, and the Pixel with a 5” one. But the Google Pixel has a more crisp display because of higher PPI density. The Pixel has 441 pixels per inch (PPI) whereas the OnePlus 3T has 401 PPI.

OnePlus 3T is the first ever phone of the series to feature a 16-megapixel front and rear camera. The Pixel, on the other hand, has an 8-megapixel front and 12.3-megapixel rear camera.

CONNECTIVITY & SENSORS:

All connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, communication ports, 3G and LTE are up-to-date in both of these smartphones. The OnePlus 3T, however, also has the dual-SIM option.

Both of the smartphones feature the compass, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. The Pixel, however, offers an additional Barometer to measure air pressure and predict the change in weather.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:

Released in the last quarter of 2016, both the phones have an aluminum body, and are light in weight. The Pixel weighing 143g, and the OnePlus 3T weighing 158g. The OnePlus 3T houses a 3400 mAH battery, whereas the Pixel possesses a 2770 mAH battery. The Pixel also features the latest Android 7.1 (Nougat) whereas the OnePlus 3T runs a previous version Marshmallow (Android 6.0).  Both of the phones are available in at least two varieties of colours, and have a very attractive and classy finish.

RECEPTION AND PUBLIC VIEWS:

Both of the phones received positive reviews. On the whole, the OnePlus 3T is bigger on specifications in terms of numbers. The processing performance and camera results of the Google Pixel have been appreciated to a great extent while the OnePlus 3T gained popularity because of value for money in terms of specifications.
