OnePlus 5T Vs OnePlus 5: What’s new in the OnePlus 5T?

The Chinese company OnePlus is most likely to upgrade much faster than other brands. OnePlus 5T is the second flagship of OnePlus in 2017. Generally, we think a lot of upgrading to a new gadget. Here is a guide for every user, willing to move on to the new version-OnePlus 5T.

Rumors suggest that company focused on only minor variations to fix the stumbling block in OnePlus 5. We made your job easier in this article by explaining what’s new.

Design & Display:

Both OnePlus 5T and OnePlus have a same metallic body with some variations in weight and dimensions. 5T is larger and heavier than 5. OnePlus 5T weighs 162g with 156.1 x 75 x 7.3mm dimension whereas OnePlus 5 weighs 153g at 154.2 x 74.1 x 7.3mm.

5T sports a larger display with 6.01 inch full HD display, compared to OnePlus 5 which was 5.5 inches. OnePlus 5T is the only version of the company that carries bezel-less display. If you are color choosy, the latter was available in grey and black, while the former comes only in black.

Hardware and Software:

Users may not find much difference in this aspect as both the versions share a same high-end Snapdragon 835 chipset and run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with 6GB or 8GB RAM. It comes in two non-expandable storage variants 64GB or 128GB. Both the gadgets are powered by non-removable 3300mAh battery and are charged through USB Type –C.

Though there is no identifiable change in the hardware/software specifications, you can find few variations in the camera of 5T. OnePlus 5T comes with dual camera setup and carries 20 MP secondary camera with a f/1.7 aperture to enhance low-light photography.

By which we can understand that 5T doesn’t carry photo lens in the secondary camera. OnePlus used to carry the telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture. There is no difference in primary camera and is the same 16 MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture.

Other features:

OnePlus 5T concentrated on biometric tech and clearly specified that the gadget can recognize your face to unlock the screen even when the display is off. The company also claimed that 5T can unlock the gadget in 0.4 seconds.

Though we might not feel secure by this feature, still you can go to the home screen directly just by pressing the power button. Connectivity options remain the same and there is nothing much to discuss on those features.

OnePlus decided not to change the price of new version drastically and one of the reasons could be there are no such significant differences in both versions. As per the recent updates, OnePlus 5T price in Dubai UAE will cost you around AED 1759.
