OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirms the launch of its next flagship smartphone OnePlus 6 in June 2018. The Chinese maker recently launched OnePlus 5T in November. OnePlus 5T has become the fastest and best-selling smartphone of 2017.
While it is still on the top pick list, but soon we can have the new OnePlus flagship in the market. OnePlus maintained its success by releasing special limited editions of OnePlus 5T. This includes Star War Edition, Lava Red Edition and Sandstone White Edition.
The OnePlus CEO Interview with CNET confirms this fact that the firm’s next flagship will arrive in the second quarter of 2018. Lau refused to spill over the specs of the upcoming device. However, he did reveal that OnePlus 6 in Dubai would probably run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
As we all know, OnePlus is good at manufacturing smartphones combining best hardware with an Android experience. Though it is comparatively a small brand, it has become the best choice for many Android enthusiasts. Furthermore, the Chinese company is planning to have a talk with US carriers with an intention to expand its services further.
Lau further added that "If the right opportunity and right timing come along, we'll be very happy to experiment. "
Another interesting thing that is rolling out these days is “Artificial Intelligence”. Surprisingly, Lau’s response to this term is just a Buzzword rolling over. However, it is not sure of whether OnePlus is planning to implement this artificial intelligence in the upcoming flagships. Recently Huawei included NPU in its flagships Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Apple introduced the AI technology in the new A11 chip that is integrated into iPhone X.
Finally, Lau confirmed that the beta version for the Face Unlock feature is likely to reach OnePlus 3 and 3T after OnePlus 5 later this month.
