Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus break pre-order record in Korea

Within just two days of its launch, Samsung has received highest pre-order requests for its flagship smartphone, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in South Korea. Reportedly, over 550,000 orders were placed for the premium handsets on April 7 and April 8 in the company's home ground. This proves that the pre-order numbers of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have definitely surpassed the pre-order numbers of Galaxy Note 7, which was stalled at 400,000 in Korea last year.

The volume is 2.75 times that of the Galaxy Note 7 and 5.5 times that of the Galaxy S7 for two days, an official source informed.

After the debacle of Note 7, the South Korean tech giant left no stone unturned to massively campaign for their latest premium handsets. This can be attributed as a major reason behind the huge pre-order numbers.

The Galaxy S8 Plus 128 GB model was in the most request. The adaptation is the first in Korea to brag a 6GB RAM.

Samsung reported the pre-requests of the new telephones on Friday in South Korea, Canada and the US. Clients, who have put in pre-requests will get their handset after April 17. The official deals start on April 21.

Samsung expects to receive highest profits with the sale of their new phones in the second quarter of the year.

Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are engraved with some amazing features, which has reportedly led to their high-end demand. The two flagship phones were launched with 4GB RAM and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

However, the new variant of Galaxy S8 Plus with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage was announced by Samsung for its sale solely in South Korea.

Samsung Galaxy S8, which was launched on March 29, will be available in gold, black and violet colors in the UAE and will be priced at $762.67 (AED2,799). Similarly, S8 Plus will be available in gold, black and violet colors and will be sold for $844.41 (AED 3,099).
