Keeping an end to the rumors, Sony now unveils new Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 compact at MWC 2018. There were several rumors rolling around these days about the possible design change in the upcoming devices. Well! The Japanese company reached the expectations and came up with a fresh design. It ships in with a dazzling 18:9 screen ratio along with the round edges. These new smartphones have reduced bezels than its predecessors, thus matching up with the latest trend.

Because of its outdated design, Sony was unable to find success, especially in the smartphone industry. Now, it is time for a change and probably even Sony understood this fact. This resulted in the Sony Xperia XZ2 in Dubai with refined design. It features almost all the most-awaited specs like the new design, latest processor, and 4K HDR video capture. All these features can definitely make it compete with the latest popular flagship Samsung Galaxy S9.

The Sony handset has a 5.7-inches full HD plus display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage with a microSD slot. It offers an impressive camera setup of a 19MP rear sensor which is far better than the 12MP rear sensor in Galaxy S9. Another interesting feature is Dynamic Vibration System that allows vibrating in different patterns at different intensities. It should rather ship in different shades including Deep green, Pink, Silver, and Black.

Talking about the compact model, it packs in all the features of Sony Xperia XZ2 and squeezes it into the smaller model. Being a compact version, the Sony Xperia XZ2 in Dubai holds a 5-inch full HD display. It is still equipped with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and camera capabilities thus maintaining the same performance level. However, you will miss out dynamic vibration system and the rear end is plastic built rather than glass. So, it will not support wireless charging.

The compact model is given a smaller battery of 2870mAh. Furthermore, it lacks VoLTE support which means you cannot use a 4G network for connectivity. Despite holding the powerful processor as its big brother, it lacks in few important aspects. So, we will have to wait and see how the things turn out for the compact model.

Overall, both the handsets are quite impressive in their own way. The refined design with a powerful processor could be an added advantage of these new Xperia handsets. Prices of these devices are not yet revealed at MWC, but it is scheduled for launch sometime in March 2018.
