Sony Xperia XA2 Review: The best Mid-range Smartphone with Impressive Features

Sony recently introduced the mid-range handset- the Sony Xperia XA2 in Dubai that has a modernized design with a brand new processor and better battery life. Here let us go through the detailed information about the news, specs, and features included in this mid-range smartphone. We will even discover the new changes that can make it stand ahead of the competition.

Design & Display

Sony is not hurried enough to implement the trending 18:9 display. It is still offering the old 16:9 aspect ratio on its 5.2-inches full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. The display is really impressive and images look vivid and accurate. As for the design, in the first look, it feels like regular Sony smartphones.

But only if you take a closer look, one can understand the changes in this mid-range handset. The camera is integrated at the center of the rear end and there is a slight curvature to give a grip while holding. As usual, the right end houses power button, volume controls, and camera button. The metallic frame with a plastic back gives it an impressive look.

OS & processor

If you are wondering why Sony preferred a price hike than its predecessor XA1, then it is due to the integration of more powerful processor. The MediaTek Helio P20 is replaced by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor which offers great performance while multitasking and gaming. It is further given a 3GB of RAM along with expandable 32GB of inbuilt storage. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo thus ensuring huge enhanced features.

The camera specifications of the Sony Xperia XA2 in UAE are decent enough to face the tough competition. On the rear, it sports a 23MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and a single LED flash. It does a fantastic job of capturing detailed images in the bright light.

However, the performance in the low light conditions is not quite impressive when compared to the performance in bright lit. The device can capture 4K videos at 60fps. Furthermore, there is an 8MP front snapper to capture memorable selfies and to have a video call.

Surprisingly, the Japanese company has upgraded the battery in Xperia XA2 in Dubai. Unlike its predecessor which had a 2300mAh battery, there is now a 3300mAh. There is a USB Type-C port with Quick Charge 3.0 support which fuels the battery at a much faster rate. Thanks to the Qualcomm processor that supports this feature.

Release date and price

The Sony’s new mid-range handset was launched alongside the entry-level Xperia L2 at CES 2018. It will soon be available in the retail market in coming weeks. The Sony Xperia XA2 Dubai price is expected to be around AED 1431.

Sony has definitely included certain impressive features that justify its price range. However, it is quite embarrassing to learn that the camera feature of Xperia XA2 has a different characteristic which even Sony’s PR and its advertising department were unable to understand. Apart from the camera, the design and display are awesome and battery life is good enough. This is definitely the best smartphone from Sony that offers features and adds the best value to the money spent.
