No doubt, HTC U11 is an impressive smartphone, but HTC isn’t convinced with this version. There is still some room for enhancement and there comes the new flagship HTC U12. It seems like HTC is not planning to unveil this new flagship smartphone at MWC 2018. But it is for sure that the company is working on to introduce the new high-end smartphone.
This is confirmed as HTC showcased the unnamed smartphone at 5G event along with the other products like Vive Pro and Vive focus in Taiwan. The probable reason for showing off this device at the event is to exhibit the capabilities of having 5G speed technology.
While nothing is official, but as per the popular tipster Evan Blass, HTC U12 could be the next flagship from HTC. The phone was entirely covered from the top, bottom and rear end. So it was hard to figure out complete details of this handset. However, from the leaked image which shows the front-end of the upcoming smartphone makes a bit clear that there would be minimum bezels than its predecessors. Furthermore, HTC claimed that it is working on to feature dual lens smartphone. So, HTC U12 could be the first smartphone to feature these dual lenses.
It is further expected to use Gigabit LTE technology which includes LAA. Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip supports this LAA, so it is likely that the HTC U12 may sport an advanced Snapdragon processor. It may also have an Edge Sense feature which forces your phone to follow different commands.
There is still a lot more to know about this upcoming flagship such as when it will launch, what specifications it can include and what would be its price? Until it is made official, we need to take everything with a pinch of salt.
