As per the recent reports, the successor of Xiaomi Mix 2 is ready to officially show off at MWC 2018 in Barcelona. The alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S joins the list of flagships that holds the latest Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood. This would be the world’s first smartphone to launch with the latest processor.
This processor mainly focuses on the camera feature and AI capabilities. Qualcomm claims that the latest chip is capable enough to exhibit thirty percent better performance. As for the AI processing, the performance improves by 300 percent. Furthermore, the processor can boost up the battery life of the device.
Apart from the latest processor, the Chinese company is likely to feature an upgraded camera. It may use the latest Sony IMX363 sensor. The sensor comes in with dual-pixel autofocus technology that can enhance low-light photography. As for the design, it may have the similar iPhone X like Notch with a vertically placed rear camera. The upcoming Mi Mix 2S may follow the current trend and incorporate the facial recognition technology into the device.
Rumors claim that, this Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is given a code name as Polaris will be an upgraded version of the Mi Mix 2. It further appeared in the AnTuTu benchmarking website with massive score of 270,461. For this test, the latest version of AnTuTu has been used.
Now, we need to wait until MWC to see how Xiaomi has managed to integrate the Snapdragon 845 processor. While other tech giants like Samsung and Sony are still trying to use the same SoC for their upcoming flagships. Along with Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Samsung has also lined up a slew of smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus in UAE that also feature the same Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US markets.
